Electrical Technology Program Acquires Conveyor Training System, Students Pass Journeyman Test

The Electrical Tech Program has acquired a conveyor trainer system through a grant to enhance industrial electrical lessons, including  pneumatic, VFD, and PLC controls. The program also recently acquired a  basic robot arm to add to the conveyor training. Some new PLC processors bought last year are being installed later this spring. All these and other acquisitions have served to update the program with newer equipment, textbooks, DVD's, laptops/simulation software, and the inclusion of HVAC training over the last three years have enhanced student employment opportunities.

The program's students are currently installing electrical circuits and lighting to the new CCC all-purpose/sports facility. The program will then install a solar heat exchanger on the construction program building by semester's end to help heat the classroom areas at that facility next year.

Two more students passed their journeyman electrician's exam in  Wichita recently to give the program a total of seven who have passed the exam over the last four semesters.
