Cornish to Weave Tales

Decee Cornish is national known as the “urban” Aesop.  He has been traveling the highways telling stories for over 15 years.  Born in Texas and raised in Houston’s 5th Ward, at the age of 19 he joined the military and traveled around the world for over a decade.  While in the military he attended colleges and universities worldwide.

Cornish has worked with at-risk kids and anti-gang programs throughout Texas using his stories to teach and motivate.  He holds a 2005 “Coming Up Taller” from the Presidential Commission of the Arts for his work with youth in the system.

Cornish’s stories will weave tales of multi-cultural history, folklore, myths, legends, tall tales and more.  This thought provoking, and informative performance will keep generational audiences entertained.
