Humanities Project: Schwall presents "Makin' A Livin': Labor and Work Songs" Week of Oct. 14

William Chico Schwall will present a program entitled “Makin’ A Livin’: Labor and Work Songs” for Montgomery County audiences the week of October 14th.  He brings to life music that reflects the Midwestern landscape and his blue collar roots to the stage.  His music shares a unique rich palette of musical colors drawn from an extensive musical career.

Self-taught on the guitar, Schwall enjoys blues and folk, slide guitar and finger picking.  His musical talent does not stop there though he also plays the banjo, mandolin, fiddle and flute.  He has performed and arranged traditional music for theatre productions such as “Under Milk Wood” with Brit.  His songwriting brings together the sounds of his colorful, musical upbringing and his own thoughtful reflection on the world we live in and the life we live.

Please join us for Schwall’s tour in Montgomery County.  It will start on Monday, October 14th at the Coffeyville Meal Site, Sycamore Landing and Windsor Place Assisted Living before arriving at the Spencer/Rounds Theatre on the CCC Campus at 10:20 a.m. on Tuesday, October 15th.  Schwall will continue his tour of Coffeyville with Windsor Place, Windsor Place SCU and the Medicalodge of Coffeyville on Tuesday.  Wednesday he will entertain residents at Asbury Village and Manor House followed by the students at Caney Valley High School on Thursday and the Caney Nursing Home and Guest Home Estates in Caney on Friday.
