Holly Reed performs at CCC week of Oct. 17

Holly Reed will guide listeners on a musical journey across the U.S. with her finger style guitar and catchy melodies.  She invites the audience to relive past and present travels across this great country through her music.  Using her own compositions, Reed invites the listener to ride along with her from the mountains of New Mexico, across the Great Plains and down to the Bay of Charleston.

Reed is a performing songwriter from Arcadia, Kansas.  Reed enjoys turning history into song using interesting tales from local Kansas history, including songs about the real lives of coal miners and their families over the last century.  Some of her compositions come from the travel journals and poetry of her ancestor, who was a Kansas poet and author in the 1800s.  The musical program by Holly Reed is an adventure that can be shared by audiences of all ages.

Reed’s tour in Montgomery County will start on Monday, October 17 at the Coffeyville Meal Site, Sycamore Landing and Windsor Place Assisted Living before arriving at the Spencer/Rounds Theatre on the CCC Campus at 10:30 a.m. on Tuesday, October 18. Reed will continue her tour of Coffeyville with Windsor Place, Windsor Place SCU and the Medicalodge of Coffeyville on Tuesday.  Wednesday she will entertain residents at Asbury Village and Manor House followed by the students at Caney Valley High School on Thursday and the Caney Nursing Home and Guest Home Estates in Caney on Friday.

The public is invited to the 10:30 a.m. Tuesday Humanities performances at CCC.  The performances are free and held in the Spencer/Rounds Theatre.  For more information call 620-251-7700 ext. 2145 or 2038.
