Bush and Reitz Selected Phi Theta Kappa Outstanding Members for March

Julia Reitz, left, and Madison Bush, right, were selected as Phi Theta Kappa Members of the Month for March.

Madison Bush, daughter of Michael and Cathy Bush of Havana, and Julia Reitz, daughter of Richard and Diane Reitz of rural Coffeyville, have been selected Phi Theta Kappa Members of the Month at Coffeyville Community College.

Madison is a pre-med major and attends CCC on a dance team scholarship.  She is a member of the Presidential Honor Roll.  Madison has been very active in the Eta Gamma Chapter especially in the area of chapter fundraising.  Madison represented the chapter at the Kansas Region Convention in Hutchinson where her art exhibit received Honorable Mention and she was a participant in the 5K Run for Funds to raise money for the region alumni book scholarship.  Madison assisted the Rotary with their Mardi Gras and Relay For Life with the Cupcakes for a Cure Project.

Julia is an elementary education major and attends CCC on a Presidential Scholarship.  Julia is a member of Christian Challenge as well as Phi Theta Kappa which she serves as Co-Vice President of Service.  In the Eta Gamma Chapter, Julia has assisted with chapter fundraising, the African Library Project and chaired the chapter’s Salvation Army Kettle Campaign.  Julia attended both the fall Kansas Region Honors in Action Conference and the spring Convention where she submitted sculpture and literature in competition.  Julia was a candidate for the Kansas Region Alumni Transfer Book Scholarship.  To raise funds for the Kansas region scholarships, she participated in two 5K runs.  Julia is a blood mobile volunteer and assisted the Relay For Life through the Cupcakes for a Cure Project.  Both members will graduate from CCC this May.
