CCC Has 22 Athletes Honored by the NJCAA for Academic Work

A total of 22 athletes at Coffeyville Community College received NJCAA Academic awards following the conclusion of the 2011-2012 school year.
Ethan Cordray of the men’s basketball team, Tom Kalisky of the men’s track team, Amanda Lightfoot of the women’s track team and Tyler Sprague of the men’s soccer team received the NJCAA’s highest academic honor, the Pinnacle Award for Academic Excellence. The Pinnacle Award is earned by student-athletes who achieve a 4.0 grade point average.
This year, three levels of award types were given out by the NJCAA. Students with grade point averages between 3.6 and 3.8 were listed with the award type of “Exemplary Academic Achievement.” Students with grade point averages over 3.8 were honored with the award type of “Superior Academic Achievement.”
Students with 4.0 grade point averages received the “Pinnacle Award for Academic Excellence.”
