CCC Wins Colby Rodeo, Warner and Markham Win Team Roping Event

The CCC Rodeo Team competed in their first college rodeo of the year at Colby, Kan. this past weekend.  Partnering up in the team roping event was Coffeyville's Parker Warner and Cale Markham.  Competing against 98 other teams, they won both rounds with times of 6.0 and 7.0 seconds.  Their total time of 13.0 won the average and outdistanced the second place team by 4.7 seconds.  Markham was last years Central Plains Region Champion Header, but has "switched ends" and is heeling this year. 

With this dominating performance from these two, Coffeyville's Men's Team won the overall rodeo with 360 points, finishing 75 points ahead of second place NEO, 90 points ahead of third place Fort Scott Community College and 120 points ahead of fourth place Fort Hays State Universtiy.

Coffeyville competes in the Central Plains Region of the National Intercollegiate Rodeo Association. Twenty schools compete in this region including community colleges and universities. The next rodeo for Coffeyville Oct. 4-6 at Southeastern Oklahoma State University in Durant, Okla.
