Lady Ravens Clinch Home Playoff Game With 82-62 Win Over Labette
February 15, 2014
The Ravens honored their sophomore class during halftime of the men's basketball on Saturday night. The Ravens will have one more regular season home game on Feb. 26 and will also host a home playoff game on March 1.
The Coffeyville Red Ravens defeated the Labette Cardinals 82-62 on Saturday night in Nellis and clinched a home playoff game with the win. The playoffs don't start for two weeks, but the Ravens have already guaranteed at least a four seed in the upcoming region tournament.
Chelsie Keys had 29 points to go along with nine rebounds to spark the Ravens. Keys made 14-of-21 field goal attempts on the night. Jazmine Torian had 14 points and ten rebounds to record another double-double. DeAnna Moore came off the bench for 10 points for the Ravens. Crash Douglas scored 16 points to lead Labette and Kasey Wellon added 13 points.
The Ravens, who led 42-24 at the half, shot 51% from the field on the night and had a 51 to 39 edge on the glass.
Coffeyville holds on to a second place tie with Cowley in the Jayhawk East. Both teams are 7-3 in conference play. The Ravens are now 16-10 overall on the season.
The Ravens are down to just two regular season games. On Wednesday night, the Ravens will travel to Independence to face the Pirates at 6 p.m. at the ICC Fieldhouse. The Ravens will then have a week off before concluding the regular season by hosting Neosho County on Feb. 26 at 6 p.m. in Nellis Hall.
One win over those last two games will clinch a number three seed in the region tournament for the Ravens. If the Ravens sweep their last two games, they should be in line for a number seed in the tournament.
