Liz Post Throws No-Hitter as Ravens Beat Dodge City

Sophomore pitcher Liz Post hurled a no-hitter against Dodge City on Sunday afternoon as the Ravens defeated the Conquistadors 9-0 in game two of a doubleheader played at Byers Field. Post walked three over six innings as the Ravens scored four runs in the sixth to run-rule Dodge City. Post need just 65 pitches for the complete game effort.

Coffeyville got a run in the second to take a 1-0 lead. Kelsey Hill singled home Jessica Patrick for the Ravens' first run. Coffeyville added three runs in the fourth. Hill had another RBI single and Post added an RBI single to plate another run. Hill scored the third run in the inning on a wild pitch. Joely Rogers doubled home Jessica Butzback in the fifth to extend the Ravens' lead to 5-0.

The game would end in the sixth as the Ravens rallied for four runs. Butzback brought home two runs with a single to score both Post and Ta'Jha Riley. Patrick ended the game with the run-rule when she followed Butzback's single with a two run homer.

Dodge City won the first game of the double-header 5-1. Alexandria Walker pitched all seven innings, allowing just two earned runs.

On Saturday, the Ravens played Pratt in a doubleheader at Parsons. Pratt defeated Coffeyville 2-1 and 2-0. Post started game one and allowed two runs over seven innings. In game two, Post once again allowed two runs over seven innings. For the weekend, Post allowed just four runs over 20 innings.

The Ravens will be at Fort Scott on Tuesday and at Independence on Friday. The Ravens will not be back at home until April 6 when they host Cloud County for a doubleheader beginning at 12 noon at Byers Field.
