Ravens End Regular Season With 78-69 Win Over Neosho County

The Coffeyville Red Ravens will go into this Saturday's region playoff game with a little momentum after they defeated the Neosho County Panthers 78-69 on Wednesday night in Nellis Hall.
Trailing by seven with about four minutes remaining, Neosho County managed to cut the Ravens lead down to 70-69 in the final 90 seconds. However, the Ravens finished off the game with an 8-0 run to seal the victory.
Earl Peterson had 21 points for the Ravens. Peterson made 11-of-12 free throw attemps on the night. Montel James scored 13 points and had a team-high seven rebounds. Carl Crawford added 10 points and Lionel Ellison dished out a team-high five assists.
Charles Cooper led Neosho County with 20 points. Jamie Batish added 15 points and Joseph Acuil scored 12 points.
The Ravens finish the regular season with an 8-4 mark in the Jayhawk East and are 22-8 overall on the season. The Ravens will have the East #2 seed in the region tournament that begins on Saturday.
The Ravens will host Dodge City in a first round game at 7 p.m. Saturday in Nellis Hall. The winner will advance to the Region VI Tournament that begins on March 6 at Wichita State University's Koch Arena.
