Ravens Fall to Dodge City in Region Playoff Game

The Ravens bench root on their teammates late in Coffeyville's region playoff game against Dodge City on Saturday night.
Azaria Nave scored 33 points for Dodge City as the Conquistadors upset the Coffeyville Red Ravens 73-67 on Saturday night in a first round region women's playoff game at Coffeyville's Nellis Hall.
Nave made 12-of-17 field goal attempts including 6-of-8 from beyond the arc to lead the Conquistadors to victory. Kelli Tolar added 17 points and Kesha Buckner scored nine, had 10 rebounds and seven assists for Dodge City.
Coffeyville trailed 44-29 at the half. Dodge City would lead by as many as 16 in the second half, but the Ravens would charge back. Coffeyville would tie the game at 60-60 with exactly five minutes left in the game. However, Dodge City would regroup and outscore the Ravens 13-7 down the stretch to pull out the win.
Chelsie Keys scored 20 of her 23 points in the second half to spark the Ravens comeback. Keys also had ten rebounds to post a double-double. Jazmine Torian scored 19 points and grabbed eight rebounds for the Ravens. Elyse Kiploks had 11 rebounds for the Ravens who out-rebounded Dodge City by a 46 to 30 margin.
However, it wasn't enough to withstand Nave's hot shooting. Coffeyville, who placed second in the Jayhawk East, ends the season with an 18-11 record overall.
