Ravens Place 5th at KCK Fall Classic

The Coffeyville Red Ravens completed their fall golf schedule by placing fifth at the Blue Devil Fall Classic in Kansas City on Monday.
Coffeyville placed ahead of Colby, Haskell University and Allen Community College. Johnson County won the tournament followed by Ottawa University in second. Host Kansas City Community College placed third with Independence finishing fourth. The Ravens were just one stroke behind Independence.
Sophomore Brett Yeubanks tied for seventh individually out of 48 competing golfers to lead the Ravens' contingent.
Yeubanks opened the tournament with a 78 and shot 80 in his second round to shoot a 36-hole total of 158. The tournament was played at the Dub's Dread Golf Course in Kansas City.
Sophomore Conner Murrel shot an 85, but had to withdraw from the tournament before completing the second round. Freshman Grant Hendrix shot rounds of 83 and 87 for a 170 total.
Freshman Max Humphrey fired rounds of 89 and 88 for a 177 total and fellow freshman Kenton Blaich had rounds of 88 and 93 for a 181 total. Freshman Trae Venerable rounded out the Ravens' squad. Venerable shot rounds of 97 and 106 to post a final tally of 203.
The Ravens will have the Winter to work on their games as the next tournament will be in March.
