The Coffeyville Red Ravens and Brown Mackie Lions split a doubleheader played Friday afternoon at Byers Field in Coffeyville.

In the opening game, the Ravens won 2-0 behind a complete game shutout tossed by Caney sophomore Liz Post. Needing just 76 pitches over seven innings for the complete game, Post allowed three hits, walked one and struck two.

The Ravens got just two hits, but they got them both in the fourth inning and aided by a Lions' error, plated two runs. Courtney Douglas started the fourth inning rally with a single. Jessica Patrick stroked a one out single that advanced Douglas to third. Patrick advanced to second on the play as the Lions' attempted to gun down Douglas at third. Lakin Myers followed and reached on an error by the Lions' pitcher Alex Johnson that allowed Douglas and Patrick to both score. Myers would be stranded at second, but the two runs were all Coffeyville would need to seal the game.

In the nightcap, Brown Mackie overcame a 2-1 deficit and defeated Coffeyville 7-2 to gain a doubleheader split.

The Ravens are scheduled to play at Cowley on Saturday at 1 p.m. The next home game will be the home regular season finale against Northern Oklahoma on April 23. The doubleheader on April 23 will begin at 2 p.m. at Byers Field in Coffeyville's Walter Johnson Park.
