Coffeyville Community College (CCC) art students not only passed the preliminary judging to make it into the Southeast Kansas Art Competition, but then they took a number of the top honors. 

“Overall I was very impressed with the students’ work that represented CCC this year,” said Red Raven Art Instructor, Michael DeRosa.  “We were definitely the strongest of all the schools presenting work at the competition.” [more]

2008 NACTA National ChampionsRed Ravens are NACTA National Champions 

The Coffeyville Community College (CCC) agriculture department took 22 students and four advisors to the North American Colleges and Teachers of Agriculture (NACTA) national championships in Stephenville, Texas.  The students competed against 18 colleges from 8 states and came out on top.  In the end Coffeyville won the Sweepstakes award followed by Hutchinson Community College, Eastern Oklahoma State College and Blackhawk East Community College. [more]

From “Sympathy City” to Coffeyville, his soccer dreams span thousands of miles and nearly 20 years.  Rodolfo Lucas played soccer in Mogi-Mirim, Brazil since he was 4-years-old.  His hometown is often called “Sympathy City” because it is so friendly. Located just 30 minutes from the largest mall in South American, Mogi-Mirim has a population of nearly 100,000.  The area has a lot of hills and enjoys tropical weather.  [more]

Livestock Judgers at Dixie NationalCCC Livestock Judging Team wins Dixie National 

The Coffeyville Community College (CCC) Livestock Judging Team beat out 83 contestants from eight colleges in five states to take high team honors at the Dixie National Livestock Exposition in Jackson, Miss. this spring. The CCC Judgers took first overall, first in the Continental Division, second in the Market Division, second in the Brahman Influence Division, third in Oral Reasons and third in English Influence Division. CCC signs agreement to bring BS in Elementary Education to Coffeyville 

Coffeyville Community College has signed an articulation agreement with Sterling College to bring a Bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education to the Coffeyville Campus.  The purpose of the agreement is to bring the Teacher Education Online program to students at CCC. [more]

College receives $250,000 grant for welding program

Welding Instructor with StudentsCoffeyville Community College (CCC) has received a $250,000 State Technology Equipment Grant approved by the Kansas Board of Regents. 

"The grant funding will be focused on the installation of a ventilation system for the current welding facility to meet the new OSHA air quality standards,” said Marlon Thornburg, Vice President for Innovation and Business Initiatives. [more]

Raven graduate has political aspirations

Ashley OfuokwuFor Coffeyville Community College (CCC) Student, Ashley Ofuokwu of Wichita, Kan., working in the political arena was something she had thought about but never pursued seriously until after this past summer.  Half Nigerian herself, she had the opportunity to visit Nigeria in the summer of 2007 and what she saw saddened her. 

“I noticed how the communities are not established and how many people are struggling,” she said.  “I know I can help them.” [more]

Reserve National ChampionsRed Raven Meats Judging Team Reserve National Champions

The Coffeyville Community College (CCC) Red Raven Meats Team ended the judging year as Reserve National Champions.  In addition to team honors, there were only four individuals named to the American Meat Science Association first team all Americans and Coffeyville had two – Shanna Ward of Coffeyville, Kan. and Shayna Dunlap of Estancia, New Mexico. [more]

Tremon Kizer named KBMA Young Band Director of the Year 

Tremon Kizer and the CCC BandCoffeyville Community College (CCC) Instrumental Music Instructor, Tremon Kizer, was named the Kansas Band Master/Phi Beta Mu Outstanding Young Band Director of the Year.  The honor is bestowed upon instrumental music teachers who work with students in grades Kindergarten through college.  Kizer is the first collegiate band director to be honored. [more]
