Cook named Red Raven Student of the Month
J.D. Cook a sophomore from Lenapah, Okla. has been
named the Coffeyville Community College (CCC) Student of the Month.
Cook was nominated by faculty and staff who said he was “reliable,
helpful and always willing to do what needed to be done.”
Cook is attending CCC on a Native American
Leadership Association scholarship. He has been a volunteer ambassador
for the past year and will ride for the Red Raven Rodeo team next year.
He is a calf and team roper.
“He is a worker and one of the best tour guides we
have as an ambassador,” said one CCC faculty member.
In his spare time, Cook helps out on his family’s
cow/calf operation, rides colts for horse owners and competes in roping
jackpots, rodeos and horse shows.
Cook will return next year to finish his Associate
of Science degree with a focus on agriculture education. He hopes to
then finish a Bachelor’s Degree in equine management at West Texas A&M.
He hopes to one day work as a rodeo coach and a horse trainer. |
