CCC signs agriculture transfer agreement with Kansas State UniversityCoffeyville Community College (CCC) signed a transfer articulation agreement with Kansas State University on October 10, 2007. The agreement essentially guarantees successful students an easy transfer to Kansas State University and completion of their bachelor’s degree in four years. The agreement covers the following agriculture degrees: Animal Science, Agriculture Education, Agribusiness, Agriculture Economics, Horticulture and Agriculture Communications. Each of the degrees includes optional areas of study. For example under the Animal Science students can focus their degree on production or, for pre-vet majors, a science option. Dr. Don Boggs, KSU College of Agriculture Associate Dean, was on campus for the formal signing and told the group of CCC agriculture students, “you have made a great decision (to attend CCC) and now we want you to make another one and come to K-State.” |

“With this agreement the students guaranteed junior status at K-State, the classes will transfer and, if they take what is recommended at K-State, they will get their bachelors degree in four years,” said Alysia Johnston, CCC Interim Vice President of Academic Services. “In the next 5-10 years, we will continue to improve and expand our agriculture offerings on campus and increase the number of students in those programs. We are constantly striving for excellence in all academic areas.” “You have an outstanding set of agriculture faculty here,” said Boggs. “We need leaders in agriculture and that is what we (Dr. Woodburn and Boggs) are committed to producing.” For more information about the agriculture programs and the new transfer agreement call 620-251-7700 ext. 2077. |
