Phi Theta Kappa raffling off throw; drawing on October 20

Phi Theta Kappa ThrowEdna resident Sherri Woolfolk found a unique and meaningful way to honor the memory of her mother, former Coffeyville resident Chris Peyton. Chris passed away after a long battle with cancer in 1999. As the wife of Jerry Peyton and in her additional roles as sister, grandmother, and aunt, Chris is greatly missed by her family and friends.

As a tribute to her mother, Sherri has crafted a beautiful pink fleece throw. The printed fleece features the pink ribbon symbol of the American Cancer Society. The throw also features hand tied fringe edging and ribbon insertion.

Members of the Eta Gamma Chapter of Phi Theta Kappa at Coffeyville Community College are selling donation tickets on the throw. The tickets which are $1.00 each or 6 for $5.00 can be purchased at the Phi Theta Kappa table at CCC home football games. Tickets can also be obtained by calling 251-7700 ext. 2076. Drawing for the throw will take place at the last regular season CCC home football game on October 20, 2007.

All proceeds from ticket sales will benefit the CCC/Phi Theta Kappa Relay for Life Team. Persons should be reminded that the upcoming month of October has been designated as Breast Cancer Awareness Month by the American Cancer Society.
