Cast announced for Rock of Troy by Mark Frank
Coffeyville Community College Theatre Department will stage the Rock of Troy, April 10-12 at 7:30 p.m. in The Spencer Rounds Theatre. A special high school show is set for April 9th at 8:30 a.m. for area high schools. The play is the newest play by Theatre Director and resident playwright, Mark Frank. The Rock of Troy is the story of the Iliad by Homer. All twenty four books are featured, but with a twist. There is no dialogue in the play. The play is presented as an exploration in movement and done to classical rock music from the 1970's and 1980's. Professional fight masters Bill Warren and Martin English from Kansas City have spent countless hours with the cast on stage combat which includes hand to hand, sword, spear, and shield fighting. The cast includes, on the Greek side, Justin Wilson as Achilles, Zander West as Menelaus, Chad Kimmons as Agamemnon, Kortlyn Forrester as Odysseus and Patroculus, Sam Cosby as Iphigenia and a Greek warrior, Hannah Carter as Clytemnestra and a Greek warrior, Catie Almond as Diomades, Matt Gardner as Little Ajax, Valerie Tomison as Giant Ajax, Ashley Rowe as Nestor, Brandon Jackson as Calchas. On the Trojan side, Gavin Wells is Hector, Lyndsey Cranor is Andromache, Sarah McConnell is Helen of Troy, Nick Rush is Paris, Kerri Davis is Chryseis, Lindsey Golden is Briseis, Dakota Miller is Aeneas, Katie Inman is Cassandra, Tara O Brien is Hecuba, Jeff Johnstone is Polydamas, Tyler Mackie is King Priam, Nicole Santorella is Glaukos, Amanda Tharp is Dolon. The Gods are Bethanie Frank is Thetis, Atlantis Frank is Atlantis, Anthony Hill is Zeus, Chelsea Daniel is Hera, Milena Barone is Aphrodite, Alec Rigdon is Apollo, Sam Quackenbush is Artemis, Athena is Venessa Freeman, Amanda Spencer is Ires, Griffin Wright is Hephaestus and Hades, Crystal Liosa is Hermes, James Hart is Poseidon, and Ryan Fuller is Ares. The stage managers are Rebekah Rose, Melissa Bowman and Thorr Miller. The Technical Director is Chris Cameron. The Light Board operator is Troy Schminke and Kassandra Bokman is running sound. Jonathan Santee is running spotlight. Properties are being done by Melissa Greenawalt. Milena Barone is doing costumes and Ryan Jones is doing make-up. The video in the play is being done by Dakota Miller and Katie Inman. James Edwards is in charge of sword construction and special effects. The play will be free with donations being taken for the purchase of a new couch, chair, refrigerator and flat screen TV for CCC Theatre's new lounge/greenroom for the students.
