CCC offering variety of short courses this spring

Coffeyville Community College (CCC) will offer a wide variety of short courses in the spring of 2008.  With costs as low as $50, these make great holiday gifts. 

Fix those shopping cart dings in a class called Fix Your Own Wreck.  This class will run on Tuesday evenings from 6-10 p.m., Feb. 5-April 15 at a cost of $125. 

Whether you want to learn how to quilt or just need a set time to complete a project, CCC will offer three quilting classes in the spring.  Intermediate Quilting will be offered Jan. 30-Feb. 21 and again April 2-May 21 from 6-9 p.m. on Wednesday.  Advanced Quilting will be offered March 5-April 3 from 6-9 p.m. on Thursday.  The quilting classes cost $55. 

Learn how to take great photos regardless of your camera.  Eye of the Photographer will be offered Feb. 21-March 13 on Thursdays from 6-9:30 p.m.  Consumer Photography will be offered March 27-April 17 from 6-9:30 p.m.  Earn one credit hour in these classes cost $50 each. 

Blacksmithing will be offered April 2-May 21 from 6-9 p.m.  The one credit hour class costs $75. 

Want to learn how to do some of that home electrical work yourself?  Enroll in the Residential Wiring short course, Feb. 12-April 1 on Tuesday and Thursday from 6-9 p.m.  This course costs $100. 

Introduction to Woods will be offered Jan 31-April 24 from 6-9 p.m. on Thursday.  The cost is $75. 

National Standard Welding will be offered Jan. 8-Feb. 7 and again Feb. 26-April 23 on Tuesday and Thursday from 5-9 p.m.  The cost is $125. 

Health care providers have a number of option in the spring.  The three credit hour Certified Medication Aide class will be offered Jan 8-Feb. 14 from 12-5 p.m. on Tuesday and Thursday, and again March 4-April 17 from 5-10 p.m. on Tuesday and Thursday.  The class is $200. 

Certified Nurse Aide classes will be taught Jan. 7-Feb. 27 from 12-5 p.m. on Monday and Wednesday, on March 3-April 28, Monday and Wednesday from 5-10 p.m. and June 2-June 25 on Monday and Wednesday from 12-5 p.m.  Nurse Aide classes cost $250 and are often paid by employers. 

A Home Health Aide class will be taught Feb. 19-28 from 12-5 p.m. on Tuesday and Thursday and again April 22-May 1 from 5-10 p.m. on Tuesday and Thursday.  The class costs $90. 

Certified Medication Aide Recertification will be offered March 7 and May 2 from 7 a.m. to 5:30 p.m.  This course costs $50.
