Kari VannosterCoffeyville Community College (CCC) sophomore, Kari Vannoster was named the Eta Gamma Phi Theta Kappa (PTK) Student of the Month.  A Coffeyville native, Vannoster has been active in her education and the community of Coffeyville.  She has been a Red Cross swim instructor, is a parish school of religion teacher for second grade at Holy Name Catholic Church and is in her third year as a member of the Junior Advisory Council (J.A.C.).  As a student at CCC, Vannoster serves as a Student Ambassador, sings in the Soundsations Show Choir and is a member of PTK.  She is the fundraising co-chair for PTK, assisted with the Tallgrass Prairie community service project, traveled to Tulsa to help with Operation Christmas Child and will travel to Orlando, Florida in the spring for the national PTK convention.  As the fundraising chair Vannoster said she “cleans the gym a lot.”

Vannoster will graduate in May of 2010 and plans to continue on and earn a bachelor’s degree in music education.  She hopes to one day teach vocal music in a high school or junior college.  She eventually wants to earn her doctorate and teach at the university level.  When she isn’t studying or busy with organizations, Vannoster enjoys singing, babysitting, spending time with family and friends shopping and reading.
