Information Technology Program
Coffeyville Community College Technical Division’s Information Systems Technology
program is an exciting new offering. This program will expose students to the most
commonly used operating systems: DOS, Windows, Windows 95/98, 2000 Professional,
Windows XP and Vista. Instruction will cover setup, configuration and troubleshooting
of microcomputers as workstations or servers. Students will create Windows NT and
Novell networks, including setting up file servers and networking client computers.
Students will receive hands-on experience in learning Microsoft NT, Cisco, and Novell networking standards, wide area networking (WAN) and local area networking (LAN). Students will be given instruction in the skills necessary for dealing with customers and customer networking problems in a business situation.

Networking lab provides students with
a real-world simulation of an enterprise environment.
This course contains an overview of networking components and features, and includes information on network security, firewall technologies, and network management. This program provides training leading to the following certifications:

Microsoft Certified Systems Administrator
CompTIA Linux+ Certification

Coffeyville Community College offers Information Technology as a Certificate Program. Students can also complete an Associate of Applied Science Degree by completing the program and by taking an additional 18 credit hours of general education courses.
