Katie is an Edna, Kan. native and a 2006 graduate of Labette County High School, located in Altamont, Kan. Upon graduation, she moved to Stillwater and earned a dual Bachelor’s Degree in Agricultural Communications and Animal Science. Next, Katie moved to Lubbock, Texas and graduated from Texas Tech University with a Master’s of Science in Agricultural Communications.
However, she has been involved in the agriculture industry since she was born. Katie grew up on a ranch south of Edna, and her first job was clerking at the salebarn in South Coffeyville, Okla., at the ripe age of 12. Her first “real” job was at Reproduction Enterprises, Inc., which is a bull stud and embryo transfer facility in Stillwater. Okla. Katie has worked at CCC in the Student Success Center as a tutor and adviser since August 2014, and accepted the Agriculture Instructor position in August of 2016.
Throughout the years, Katie has learned that Agriculture is a very diverse industry, but what makes it so special are the people. She hopes to be someone who can provide students with diverse experiences and help guide them through this chapter of their life. Katie is committed to helping students realize their potential and their passion and wants to help them achieve their goals, whatever they may be.
