Born in Manhattan Ks. Garret attended Coffeyville under a baseball scholarship. Transferred to Emporia State University and once more to Fort Hays State where he finished his undergrad and playing career. He is now in his first year of coaching under Coach Martin as an outfield and hitting coach.
