CCC Broadcasting Students Win Gold Medal at Skills USA Contest

Samantha Barney and Xavier N'Gouan will represent Coffeyville Community College at the National Skills USA Contest after winning gold medals in the Television Production Contest at the State Skills USA Contest.

Two Coffeyville Community College students will advance to the National Skills USA Contest after winning gold medals at the State Skills USA Contest last week in Wichita.

Xavier N'Gouan and Samantha Barney earned the trip to nationals in the Television Production Contest. The students competed against two teams from Labette Community College and another team from Hutchinson Community College. N'Gouan is a sophomore from Cote D'Ivoire and Barney is a freshman from Chetopa, Kan.

"Our team earned the opportunity to represent CCC at the National Skills USA Contest in Kansas City in June," said CCC Broadcasting Technology Instructor Billy Durham. The national contest is scheduled for June 23-28.
