Romanelli to Entertain Week of April 23 for Humanities Project

Elaine Romanelli’s music melds lyrical melodies, intimate storytelling, charm, sincerity and wit.  Her original music is catchy and direct, and her singing brings to mind Alison Krauss and Sarah McLachlan.

Romanelli’s Celtic ancestry is evident in her live show as she traces her roots from Ireland to America, through renditions of Irish traditional music like "My Lagan Love," to Irish-American parlor songs like "Danny Boy" and through to contemporary hits from singer/songwriters like KT Tunstall.

Romanelli tours all across the US and in 2011 she played events from California to Massachusetts. Her album "Real Deal" has been spun on radio stations across the northeast and Midwest, including folk, college and syndicated public radio.  "Real Deal" has been hailed as “vivid, aphoristic, metaphorically charged” and “pulsing with realistic optimism.”

Romanelli’s tour in Montgomery County will start on Monday, April 23rd at the Coffeyville Meal Site, Sycamore Landing and Windsor Place Assisted Living before arriving at the Spencer/Rounds Theatre on the CCC Campus at 10:30 a.m. on Tuesday, April 24th. Romanelli will continue her tour of Coffeyville with Windsor Place, Windsor Place SCU and the Medicalodge of Coffeyville on Tuesday.  Wednesday she will entertain residents at Pickwick Place, Asbury Village and the Dale Apartments followed by the students at Caney Valley High School on Thursday and the Caney Nursing Home and Guest Home Estates in Caney on Friday.

The public is invited to the 10:20 a.m. Tuesday Humanities performances at CCC.  The performances are free and held in the Spencer/Rounds Theatre.  For more information call 620-251-7700 ext. 2145 or 2038.
