CCC's Graham Library Joins NASA and Other Organizations in Celebrating the Celestial Event of the Century

Solar Eclipse ImageCCC’s Graham Library has joined more than 1,000 libraries across the country to participate in the celestial event of the century, the August 21, 2017 Solar Eclipse. During this national event, the shadow of the moon will sweep across the United States from the Pacific Ocean to the Atlantic Ocean in a spectacle that hasn't occurred in decades. It is aptly named the Great American Eclipse. The Graham Library will offer public events related to the eclipse to bring STEM (science, technology, engineering and math) programming to children, teens and adults in our community.

The College solar eclipse watching event will begin at 12 noon and will end at around 1:30 p.m. The watching event will take place on the lawn outside the Student Union. The community is invited.

CCC will be providing glasses to anyone interested in safely observing the eclipse from campus. CCC will also be providing a live NASA feed of the event inside the Spencer/Rounds Theatre. The eclipse in Coffeyville will begin at 11:39 a.m. with maximum coverage of 93%  in Coffeyville at 1:08 p.m.
