Humanities Project: February Sky brings Irish, Celtic, Scottish Program Week of April 7

February Sky is a duo of traditional singer and guitarist Phil Cooper and singer songwriter Susan Urban.   Together they bring their own arrangements and style to chosen songs from the best of modern Folk songs.

Cooper and Urban present a combination of old and new songs addressing the widest possible range of experience, complete with vocal harmony, intricate instrumentation and thoughtful stagecraft.  They believe that folk music is a continuum – whether the songs are self-penned or have a history thousands of years old, as long as they speak to the human condition and the human heart.

February Sky’s tour in Montgomery County will start on Monday, April 7th at the Coffeyville Meal Site, Sycamore Landing and Windsor Place Assisted Living before arriving at the Spencer/Rounds Theatre on the CCC Campus at 10:20 a.m. on Tuesday, April 8th. February Sky will continue their tour of Coffeyville with Windsor Place, Windsor Place SCU and the Medicalodge of Coffeyville on Tuesday.  Wednesday they will entertain residents at Asbury Village and Manor House followed by the students at Caney Valley High School on Thursday and the Caney Nursing Home and Guest Home Estates in Caney on Friday.

The public is invited to the 10:20 a.m. Tuesday Humanities performances at CCC.  The performances are free and held in the Spencer/Rounds Theatre.  For more information call 620-251-7700 ext. 2145 or 2038.
