Hawkings Performing For Humanities Project Week of Sept. 9

Dave Hawkins is a Cincinnati-based songwriter who has been touring and recording music for more than 30 years.  Throughout his career Dave has performed his share of rallies and other Union and Social Justice events across the U.S.  He is an active member of the American Federation of Musicians.

Hawkins has two previous CD releases; Manchester Mornings (2005) and Hotel de Ville (2003).  Both were recorded in Nashville and considered for Grammy nominations.  His most recent release, Best That I Can (2011) was self-produced and has been receiving critical acclaim in the U.S. and Europe.  He will share some of the history of workers’ rights in the United States and play songs of the movement.

Hawkins’ tour in Montgomery County will start on Monday September 9th at the Coffeyville Meal Site, Sycamore Landing and Windsor Place Assisted Living before arriving at the Spencer/Rounds Theatre on the CCC Campus at 10:20 a.m. on Tuesday, September 10th. Hawkins will continue his tour of Coffeyville with Windsor Place, Windsor Place SCU and the Medicalodge of Coffeyville on Tuesday.  Wednesday he will entertain residents at Asbury Village and Manor House followed by the students at Caney Valley High School on Thursday and the Caney Nursing Home and Guest Home Estates in Caney on Friday.

The public is invited to the 10:20 a.m. Tuesday Humanities performances at CCC.  The performances are free and held in the Spencer/Rounds Theatre.  For more information call 620-251-7700 ext. 2145.
