CCC Reflects on a Strong Fall Semester, Looks Ahead to Spring

Fall 2025 Semester Recap

Coffeyville, KS — As the Spring 2026 semester begins, Coffeyville Community College (CCC) reflects on a strong Fall 2025 semester marked by record enrollment growth, expanded workforce programs, and continued collaboration with community, industry, and education partners across Southeast Kansas. According to the Kansas Board of Regents 2025 Fall Preliminary Enrollment Summary, CCC achieved the highest enrollment growth of any community college in Kansas, posting an 11.4% increase in headcount. This marks the College's largest one-year enrollment increase in more than a decade.

Throughout the fall semester, CCC advanced several key initiatives designed to meet regional workforce needs. One of the most notable milestones was the launch of the Powersports Technology Program at the Columbus Technical Campus. The program officially opened with a ribbon-cutting and open house at the Hatfield Building, a facility leased by CCC from Jay Hatfield. Hatfield’s partnership has provided CCC with the space needed to expand technical education opportunities in the region and create direct pathways to employment. Through Jay Hatfield Motorsports and its multiple dealership locations across Kansas, Missouri, and Oklahoma, students completing the program can pursue careers in a high-demand industry. The event brought together community members, industry partners, regional educators, students, and local leaders, highlighting broad support for technical education in the region.

CCC also continued to benefit from strong federal support during the fall semester, specifically in its Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) program, which prepares students for careers in the trucking and transportation industry. U.S. Senator Jerry Moran visited the Coffeyville Technical Campus to tour the College’s Commercial Driver’s License program and view a demonstration of the CDL driving simulator. Senator Moran has played a key role in helping CCC secure congressionally directed funding, including grants that support the expansion of career and technical education programs, such as CDL training and other workforce-focused initiatives.

Throughout the fall semester, CCC strengthened its partnerships with regional high schools by welcoming students to campus to explore academic and technical programs. These visits give students the opportunity to learn about CCC’s facilities, meet instructors and advisors, and explore career pathways available through the College. CCC works closely with school districts across the region to ensure students have early access to information that helps them plan for postsecondary education and career success.

CCC’s momentum and commitment to student success were further recognized this past fall when the College was named among the Aspen Institute’s Top 200 community colleges nationwide. This recognition reflects CCC’s focus on student outcomes, workforce alignment, and continuous improvement, placing the College among the nation’s top-performing community colleges.

Looking ahead, CCC remains focused on sustaining this growth by expanding career and technical education programs, strengthening partnerships, and supporting students at every stage of their educational journey. While the spring semester is already underway, prospective students are encouraged to connect with CCC’s academic advisors at any time to explore programs, plan future enrollment, and map out pathways that align with their educational and career goals.
