Falicia Mansfield named PTK Student of the Month

Falicia Mansfield of South Coffeyville, Okla. was named the Coffeyville Community College (CCC) Eta Gamma Phi Theta Kappa Student of the Month. Mansfield is on a music scholarship and serves as the Co-Vice President of Scholarship for PTK. In her first year and a half at CCC, Mansfield conquered 19 miles in the Grand Canyon in the Field Biology class, visited Washington D.C. for the PTK Defending the Summit Trip, volunteer time at Cottonwood Falls in the Tallgrass Prairie and attended an officer retreat at Texas A&M Commerce. Her adventures continue as she is headed to Colorado this month to help with Operation Christmas Child, will travel to Orlando, Florida in the spring for the International PTK Convention and plans to complete the Adventure Photography class over spring break in Roatan, Honduras. “I think I have had more opportunities at CCC and I’m more involved here than I would have been at a larger university,” said Mansfield. “The college is very friendly and close to home.” Mansfield will graduate in May 2010 and plans to attend Northeastern State University to continue her degree in Secondary Education with an emphasis in Math.
