The Coffeyville Community College (CCC) Meats Judging Team won reserve champion at the American Royal in Omaha, Neb. the weekend of October 16. Nathan Mertz of Bland, Mo. took sixth high individual, Garth Blackburn of Parsons, Kan. took eighth high individual and Jeremy Moore of Neosho, Mo. took 10th high individual. Courtney Lay of Cherryvale, Kan. rounded out the team. In the alternate contest, Rachael Arkfeld of Dunbar, Neb. took sixth high individual, Elliot Vest of Smyrna, De. took eighth high individual and Lindsay Coons of Coffeyville, Kan. took 10th high individual. Derek Handshumaker of Coffeyville, Kan. and Chris Bussen of Dennis, Kan. also judged in this contest.
