For Welding Contest participants, students can only compete in one contest due to length of the events.

Contests will begin at 8:30 a.m.

For Entomology, Vet Science, Farrm & Ranch Management and Food Science Contest participants, students may choose to compete in two contests.

Session #1 will begin at 8:30 a.m. with Session #2 starting at 10:30 a.m.

Who's Coming    

The 2019 Aggie Day will be open to all FFA chapters in the 4-state area with an emphasis on Kansas Chapters. There will be a junior and senior division for each contest. Junior Level is open to 9th and 10th grade students only. For Vet Science, Entomology, Farm and Ranch Management and Food Science, teams will consist of 4 students and schools can bring 1 A Team and 1 B Team in each division with up to 4 extra participants. The Welding contest will be for individuals only, and schools can bring as many participants as they desire. Registration is available online and will be taken through April 15.

8:00 a.m. - 8:30 a.m.: Registration, Nellis Hall Lobby

8:30 a.m.: Session 1 Starts

8:30 a.m.: Welding Contest Starts (Welding Technology Institutute, 3002 W 8th Street in Coffeyville)

10:30 a.m.: Session 2 Starts

1:00 p.m.: Awards, Nellis Hall Gym

About the Contests

Vet Science Contest

There will be two sessions of the Vet Science Contest in Nellis Hall West. Session 1 will begin at 8:30 a.m. and Session 2 will begin at 10:30 a.m. Students can participate in this and one other contest, aside from Welding.

The contest consists of 3 portions:

  • Multiple Choice Test 50 questions (students will bring clipboards and the multiple choice portion will be completed in the bleachers).
  • Anatomy and Physiology: 25 questions.
  • Identification: 25 equipment, 10 parasite, 25 breeds.
  • Mathematics: 10 multiple choice questions.

The test is completed on a Universal C Scantron (705 C-1) and schools will provide their own scantrons.

Farm and Ranch Management Contest

There will be two sessions of the Farm and Ranch Management Contest. Session 1 will begin at 8:30 a.m. and Session 2 will begin at 10:30 a.m. Students can participate in this and one other contest, aside from Welding. The contest will be held in Weinberg Hall, Room 128. Participants will be split in Senior and Junior Division. No graphing or programmable calculators allowed.

This contest will consist of two multiple choice tests.

This test is completed on scantron #105481, and the school will provide their own scantrons.

Food Science Contest

There will be two sessions of the Food Science Contest. Session 1 will begin at 8:30 a.m. and Session 2 will begin at 10:30 a.m. Students can participate in this and one other contest, aside from Welding. The contest will be held in Nellis Hall East. 

The test consists of 4 portions:

  • Triangle test. 
  • Aroma test.
  • 50 question multiple choice test.
  • Safety regulations ID exam. 

The test is completed on a Food Science 713-3 Scantron and the schools will provide their own scantrons.

Entomology Contest

There will be two sessions of the Entomology Contest. Session 1 will begin at 8:30 a.m. and Session 2 will begin at 10:30 a.m. Students can participate in this and one other contest, aside from Welding. The contest will be held in Nellis Hall West.

This test will consist of two portions:

  • 50 question ID Portion (bugs will be displayed on tables on the gym floor for students to identify)
  • 50 question Multiple Choice Test (students will bring clipboards and the multiple choice portion will be completed in the bleachers)

The test is completed on the Universal Form C Scantron (713-3) and the schools will provide their own scantrons.

Welding

There will be one session of the Welding Contest and it will begin at 8:30 a.m. at the CCC Welding Technology Center located at 3002 W 8th Street in Coffeyville (Directions to Center). Students are only allowed to participate in this contest. This will only be an individual competition; there will not be a team portion. Schools are allowed to bring as many contestants as they would like. There will be only one student allowed in a booth at a time. Help from coaches will not be allowed.
