Coffeyville Community College President Linda Moley has decided now is the perfect time to step back and enjoy her family, friends, and more time on the golf course.  

President Moley began her career at CCC in 1994 as the softball and volleyball coach.  During her time in this position, she recruited CCC’s D-II back-to-back national champion volleyball coach, Delice Downing as a student.  Since that time, she has served as the Athletic Director, Dean of students, and Executive Vice President of Student Services and College Relations.  In 2010, the CCC Board of Trustees appointed her interim President. President Moley became the eighth President and first female President in CCC history in July 2011.

“The timing is right," said Moley. "We just completed one of the strongest HLC evaluations we have had in 25 years and the administrative team is excellent and more than capable to carry on the initiatives that will take the institution to the next level for our students, faculty and staff.  This is a perfect time to pass the torch, spend more time with my family and focus on me.”

Under President Moley’s leadership, Coffeyville Community College has received the largest unencumbered donation of $1 million from Dr. Terry Powell, built a new $15 million men’s dormitory, obtained the highest enrollment increase in one year of any educational institution. CCC has ranked in the top five in highest community college graduation rates in Kansas since 2012. The RN and LPN nursing programs have achieved 100% passage rate, the phlebotomy program has maintained a 100% passage rate on the national certification exams for more than five years. Additionally, CCC has significantly increased training for area high school students through the Excel in CTE program from the Kansas Board of Regents.  Major renovations of the learning facilities have taken place during her tenure as President.  Community partnerships have resulted in the addition of the medical lab technician program and completion of five Workforce AID grants from the Kansas Department of Commerce addressing employment needs of area employers.  

President Moley’s retirement will take effect on December 31, 2019.  The Coffeyville Community College Board of Trustees appointed Dr. Marlon Thornburg as Acting President when President Moley is off campus. Thornburg will assume the full responsibilities of President effective January 1, 2020, making him the ninth President at CCC.
