Coffeyville, KS- Coffeyville Community College is saddened to announce that James “Magic” Nixon (former Assistant Soccer Coach) passed away Sunday, April 17, 2022. He was an integral part of our soccer team during the 2008-2009 soccer season and will be greatly missed.

Former CCC Head Soccer Coach, Courey Feerer and current Sociology Professor at Coffeyville Community College, expressed his gratitude for James.

“He was here during the 2008-2009 year.  That Fall he played a significant role with the team.  I was sick that year----and was unable to coach until the last few games of the season---James kept the CCC soccer program afloat because I couldn’t be there.  One of my 1st games back was the Indy away game (I remember taking a pic before the game of me , Jerrid Schicke , Derek Gish (ICC Head Coach at the time) and Magic at the Peter Pan Road soccer fields when ccc played Indy that year)."
