[Coffeyville, KS] – Coffeyville Community College (CCC) proudly celebrated a historic milestone on Saturday, May 10, 2025, as the institution recognized its 100th graduating class during Commencement ceremonies held at Nellis Hall.
This year’s celebration was made even more meaningful with the attendance of Florene Carnes and Laudine Luhn, twin sisters and CCC graduates from the Class of 1948. As two of the oldest known living graduates, Florene and Laudine were special guests at the ceremony. The College recently featured them in its Raven Proud series, where they shared their cherished memories and enduring connection to CCC.
“The college has always felt like a home to us,” they said, reflecting on their time as students and the impact CCC has had on their lives.
Also recognized was Mr. Joe Levy, a distinguished CCC alumnus from the Class of 1947 and, as far as known, the oldest living graduate of the College. Though he was unable to attend, Mr. Levy was invited as an honored guest. A revered icon in Coffeyville, he went on to become a partner in the law firm Hall Levy Devore Bell Ott & Kritz, P.A. He now resides in Rochester, Minnesota, with his wife, Pat.
Delivering the 2025 Commencement Address was CCC alumnus Barry Feaker, Founder and CEO of Compassion Strategies and CCT Strategies, LLC. Feaker inspired graduates with his message of purpose, resilience, and the importance of leading with compassion.
To mark the centennial celebration, all graduates and faculty members received a commemorative medallion featuring the College’s 100-Year logo and seal. The medallion was inscribed with the phrase: “Investing in the Future by Celebrating the Past.”
