Coffeyville, KS – Coffeyville Community College is excited to present Ryan Burns, a Chicago-based indie folk musician whose artistry blends the rich tradition of Midwest folk with modern storytelling. Drawing inspiration from artists like Jeff Tweedy, Steve Goodman, Glen Hansard, John Prine, Paul Simon, and indie favorites Wilco and Fleet Foxes, Ryan’s music reflects both the intimacy of personal experiences and the broader landscape of life in the Midwest.
Known for his soulful voice, intricate guitar and banjo work, and shifting arrangements, Burns captivates audiences with performances that are at once driving and comforting. His songwriting, marked by poetic lyricism and authentic emotion, balances introspection with vivid observations of the world around him, offering listeners a musical journey filled with joy, sorrow, and connection.
