On Friday, August 15, the Coffeyville Community College (CCC) Volleyball Team partnered with the City of Coffeyville and Coffeyville Proud in Action to take part in Coffeyville Beautification Day.
All 23 student-athletes joined together for the effort, spending the day painting fire hydrants and rails, picking up trash, and clearing brush throughout the community. Head Coach Kandi Midgett organized the service opportunity as both a team bonding activity and a way to support the community.
“I think it’s really great that the kids were able to get out and give back to the community and be seen in a positive way,” Midgett said.
The student-athletes also reflected on the experience. Josie Harper, a sophomore from Riverton, KS, shared, “It was fun and a good way to give back to the community.” Lauren Crotinger, a freshman from Merriden, KS, added, “I liked being able to give back to the community because they support our team.”
The Red Raven Volleyball Team was proud to contribute to the initiative, highlighting the importance of teamwork not just on the court, but also in serving the Coffeyville community.
