Coffeyville, KS – Coffeyville Community College (CCC) will host a ribbon-cutting ceremony for the new Linda Moley Academic Center for Excellence (ACE) on Monday, November 17, at 3:30 p.m. The event will take place on the second floor of the Russell H. Graham Library on the main campus, immediately prior to the regularly scheduled CCC Board of Trustees meeting.
The new Academic Center for Excellence, named in honor of former CCC President Linda Moley, reflects the College’s continued commitment to enhancing student success and updating campus facilities. The ACE room offers a modern, student-focused environment designed to foster academic achievement through tutoring, sensory, and academic resources.
The development of the ACE room was made possible through a state student success grant awarded to Coffeyville Community College aimed at enhancing campus infrastructure and learning environments. These funds have supported several modernization projects across campus, including upgrades that improve technology and accessibility for students.
Linda Moley served Coffeyville Community College for 25 years, starting her career in 1994 as the softball and volleyball coach. Over the years, she held multiple leadership roles, including Athletic Director, Dean of Students, and Executive Vice President of Student Services and College Relations, before being appointed President in 2011 — becoming CCC’s first female President.
Under her leadership, CCC reached many milestones, including record enrollment growth, major campus renovations, and national recognition for academic and athletic excellence. She also secured the College’s largest unencumbered donation, oversaw the construction of a $15 million residence hall, and expanded partnerships that strengthened workforce and technical education programs. "Linda was a strong advocate for supporting student success initiatives at CCC during her career. She
championed the implementation of services to assist our students to succeed academically and be ready for their next challenge in life, whether transferring to a four-year college or moving into the area workforce," said Dr. Marlon Thornburg, current CCC President. The ribbon-cutting will celebrate both former President Moley’s lasting impact on the institution and CCC’s ongoing mission to provide modern, high-quality educational resources for its students.
The community is invited to join CCC students, faculty, and staff in celebrating this special dedication and ribbon-cutting. Light refreshments will be served following the ceremony.
