Coffeyville, KS — Coffeyville Community College’s Humanities Program will welcome storyteller Flavia Everman for a live performance on Tuesday, February 3, 2026, at 6:30 p.m. in the Spencer/Rounds Theatre.
“Why be normal?” Everman asks. “You have to be a little bit crazy to get by in this world, and wouldn’t it be boring if we were all the same?” That philosophy is at the heart of her work as a lifelong creative and passionate storyteller who brings imagination, humor, and heart to every performance.
Everman served for seven years as Executive Director of the Warren County Fine Arts Council and currently teaches classes at area homeschool co-ops. Her creative life spans a wide range of pursuits, including ballroom dancing, singing, piano, drawing, painting, sewing, cooking, baking, canning, and reading, but storytelling has always remained her central passion.
Storytelling has been a defining part of Everman’s life since high school, and she returned to it professionally after college while working in a bookstore. Today, she travels to schools, daycares, festivals, and community gatherings, weaving fairytales and folktales that inspire imagination and connection across generations.
A member of the Gateway Storytellers Group in St. Louis, Everman has been featured for several years as a Regional Storyteller at the St. Louis Annual Storytelling Festival. She is also working on a storytelling and collection project in Rwanda, Africa, with the goal of traveling the world to gather and share stories so they are never forgotten.
This performance is part of CCC’s Humanities Program, which brings artists, performers, and cultural experiences to campus to enrich learning and engagement for students and the community. All Humanities Program events are FREE and open to the public.
The performance will take place at Spencer/Rounds Theatre on the Coffeyville Community College campus.
