CCC Humanities Program Welcomes Folk Musician Joe Jencks

Folk Musician Joe Jencks

Coffeyville, KS — Coffeyville Community College’s Humanities Program will welcome folk musician Joe Jencks for a live performance on Tuesday, February 10, 2026, at 6:30 p.m. in the Spencer/Rounds Theatre.

Joe Jencks is a 25-year veteran of the international folk circuit, an award-winning songwriter, and a celebrated vocalist based in Chicago, IL. Merging conservatory training with his Irish roots and working-class upbringing, Jencks delivers engaged musical narratives filled with heart, soul, groove, and grit.

Jencks has penned several #1 folk songs, including the ever-relevant “Lady of the Harbor,” and was co-founder of the harmony trio Brother Sun. From festivals such as Falcon Ridge, Kerrville, Mariposa, and Old Songs to venues including Lincoln Center and Carnegie Hall, he has captivated diverse audiences with his approachable style.

Drawing on his Irish heritage as a dual U.S. and Irish citizen, Jencks uses his lyrical voice to enchant, heal, and inspire. He is noted for his unique merging of musical beauty, social consciousness, and spiritual exploration, delivering vivid songwriting and well-crafted instrumentals with a lyric baritone voice often described as having the edgy richness of a good sea-salt caramel.

This performance is part of CCC’s Humanities Program, which brings artists, performers, and cultural experiences to campus to enrich learning and engagement for students and the community. All Humanities Program events are FREE and open to the public.

The performance will take place at Spencer/Rounds Theatre on the Coffeyville Community College campus.
