Coffeyville, KS — Coffeyville Community College’s Humanities Program will welcome husband-and-wife duo Rick and Donna Nestler for a live performance on Tuesday, February 17, 2026, at 6:30 p.m. in the Spencer/Rounds Theatre.
Rick and Donna Nestler have been performing together professionally for more than 20 years, sharing a rich blend of traditional Americana and roots music. One of their specialties is music inspired by the Hudson River, including Rick’s composition “The River That Flows Both Ways,” featured on Pete Seeger’s Grammy Award–winning album Tomorrow’s Children.
Rick shared a 35-year friendship with Pete Seeger, sailing as first mate aboard Seeger’s boat The Woody Guthrie and helping build the Ferry Sloop Sojourner Truth, while performing together at festivals, benefits, and informal gatherings. Donna, a classically trained musician, plays banjolele, concertina, and other instruments, while Rick contributes his self-taught guitar skills. Together, they combine their influences into a warm, engaging sound heard at house concerts, museums, libraries, and folk festivals across the U.S. and internationally.
Their program, Of Time and Rivers Flowing, features songs for, on, and about the Hudson River and other waterways of America.
This performance is part of CCC’s Humanities Program, which brings artists, performers, and cultural experiences to campus to enrich learning and engagement for students and the community. All Humanities Program events are FREE and open to the public.
The performance will take place at Spencer/Rounds Theatre on the Coffeyville Community College campus.
