CCC Humanities Program Welcomes Guitarist and Songwriter Tom Page

Coffeyville, KS — Coffeyville Community College’s Humanities Program will welcome guitarist and songwriter Tom Page for a live performance on Tuesday, March 10, 2026, at 6:30 p.m. in the Spencer/Rounds Theatre.

Tom Page is a guitarist and songwriter based in Wichita, Kansas. Growing up in the 1970s as a blind American, he was inspired by the era's great folk artists and developed a lifelong passion for the roots of American music. His program, From Blind Boys to Bluesmen, draws on his experiences as a year-round touring musician to explore the history, culture, and resilience of blind musicians.

Through story and song, Page traces the evolution of the “blind blues man” from the late 19th century to the present, highlighting the skills, challenges, and opportunities that have allowed blind Americans to pursue their dreams. His program also examines the social and historical context of blind musicians, including civil rights and integration movements, offering audiences insight into the perseverance and creativity of this unique community.

Page lives in Wichita with his partner, Nicole Taylor. He remains deeply involved with the National Federation of the Blind, mentoring and sharing his knowledge, and continues to inspire through his music, storytelling, and advocacy.

This performance is part of CCC’s Humanities Program, which brings artists, performers, and cultural experiences to campus to enrich learning and engagement for students and the community. All Humanities Program events are FREE and open to the public.

The performance will take place at Spencer/Rounds Theatre on the Coffeyville Community College campus.
