CCC Humanities Program Welcomes The Oregon Trail Troubadours

Daniel Neihoff and Lyal Strickland, joined by musical friends Rachel Laven and Dillon Hasten.

Coffeyville, KS — Coffeyville Community College’s Humanities Program will welcome The Oregon Trail Troubadours for a live performance on Tuesday, April 7, 2026, at 6:30 p.m. in the Spencer/Rounds Theatre.

The Oregon Trail Tour is a dramatic reimagining of a time long past, featuring hope, adventure, and storytelling. This special week brings together two Humanities Series favorites, Daniel Neihoff and Lyal Strickland, joined by musical friends Rachel Laven and Dillon Hasten. Around an onstage campfire, they share stories and songs from their lives and the characters they’ve met, transporting audiences to a starry night on the trail.

Daniel Neihoff blends Americana, folk, and country with soulful storytelling. His fingerstyle guitar and emotive vocals create an intimate, emotionally rich connection that leaves a lasting impression. Rachel Laven, a Texas-born Americana songwriter and Kerrville New Folk Competition finalist, captivates with her clear, soulful voice, precise guitar work, and heartfelt storytelling. Dillon Hasten, an Ozarks-based Americana artist, blends folk, country, and roots rock, capturing love, loss, and life’s winding roads. Lyal Strickland, a seventh-generation Ozarks farmer and singer-songwriter, delivers songs of small-town struggles, resilience, and tradition with candor and authenticity.

This performance is part of CCC’s Humanities Program, which brings artists, performers, and cultural experiences to campus to enrich learning and engagement for students and the community. All Humanities Program events are FREE and open to the public.

The performance will take place at Spencer/Rounds Theatre on the Coffeyville Community College campus.
