CCC Humanities Program Welcomes Musical Duo Dusty James and Abalone Pearl

musical duo Dusty James and Abalone Pearl

Coffeyville, KS — Coffeyville Community College’s Humanities Program will welcome musical duo Dusty James and Abalone Pearl for a live performance on Tuesday, April 14, 2026, at 6:30 p.m. in the Spencer/Rounds Theatre.

Dusty James and Abalone Pearl, a St. Louis-based multi-instrumentalist duo, mix up the music, playing pop, acoustic, and traditional tunes, Americana, Beatles covers, and original songs. They bring a carload of stringed instruments, swapping off banjo, mandolin, guitar, dulcimer, and harmonica throughout their performances.

Dusty James is a champion flat-picker who earned third place in the guitar competition at the Walnut Valley Festival in Winfield, Kansas. He has written award-winning songs alongside his musical partner, Abalone Pearl.

This truly Midwestern duo brings a festive rhythm and a surprising down-home twang to songs you might not expect, alongside original tunes with sweet melodies and lyrical ballads, punctuated with a dash of humor to match their band’s name.

This performance is part of CCC’s Humanities Program, which brings artists, performers, and cultural experiences to campus to enrich learning and engagement for students and the community. All Humanities Program events are FREE and open to the public.

The performance will take place at Spencer/Rounds Theatre on the Coffeyville Community College campus.
