Coffeyville, KS — Coffeyville Community College’s Humanities Program will welcome singer-songwriter Aspen Black for a live performance on Tuesday, April 21, 2026, at 6:30 p.m. in the Spencer/Rounds Theatre.
Aspen Black is a singer-songwriter, cowgirl poet, multi-instrumentalist, educator, author, and award-winning horsewoman. Drawing on her Appalachian roots, extensive travels, and deep connection to the country-folk tradition, Black creates original music and storytelling programs that entertain and enlighten audiences of all ages. Her performances offer a unique blend of history, modern culture, and the stories that shape our lives.
Fans describe her voice as “mesmerizing,” “captivating,” and “easy to listen to.” Her CD Eastern Western Cowgirl won the 2015 Rural Roots Music Commission Female Country-Western CD of the Year. She has been a top-five finalist multiple times with the Western Music Association for Female Poet of the Year, Cowboy Poetry CD of the Year, and Poetry Book of the Year, and she was the overall winner of the singing contest at the 2016 National Traditional Country Music Association Festival.
Black tours nationally, offering concerts, interactive programs, and workshops for children through senior adults, sharing her music, poetry, and cowgirl spirit with every audience.
This performance is part of CCC’s Humanities Program, which brings artists, performers, and cultural experiences to campus to enrich learning and engagement for students and the community. All Humanities Program events are FREE and open to the public.
The performance will take place at Spencer/Rounds Theatre on the Coffeyville Community College campus.
