COFFEYVILLE, KS — Coffeyville Community College (CCC) has been awarded a $10,000 grant from the Gene Haas Foundation to support students in the college’s Machining and Manufacturing Technology program, with an emphasis on training in computer numerical control (CNC) technology.

The Gene Haas Foundation supports educational institutions that promote manufacturing and skilled trades education. The foundation’s grants help strengthen educational programs by providing resources that prepare students for careers in advanced manufacturing and other high-demand technical fields.

Funding from the grant will support post-secondary students as they develop the technical knowledge and hands-on skills needed to succeed in modern manufacturing environments. Through training focused on CNC technology, CCC students gain experience with the automated machining processes and equipment used throughout today’s manufacturing industry.

“We are grateful to the Gene Haas Foundation for its investment in Coffeyville Community College students and the future of manufacturing,” said Marla Sterling, Director of Workforce Development at CCC. “This funding will help strengthen opportunities for post-secondary students in our Machining and Manufacturing Technology program as they develop the CNC skills employers need in today’s workforce.”

The Machining and Manufacturing Technology program at CCC provides students with career-focused training designed to prepare them for employment in the manufacturing industry. Support from the Gene Haas Foundation will help CCC continue providing students with relevant, hands-on training aligned with the evolving needs of regional employers.
