COFFEYVILLE, KS — Coffeyville Community College’s Humanities Program will welcome Kansas City-based musical duo Beth Watts Nelson & Brandon Day for a FREE community performance at 6:30 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 1, in the Spencer/Rounds Theatre.
Nelson and Day blend classical, folk, jazz, and choral influences into a modern take on vintage Americana. Known for award-winning songwriting, close vocal harmonies, and expressive banjo and guitar, the duo creates heartfelt music that draws from a variety of musical traditions.
Their music is equally at home in an intimate listening room, a cocktail bar, or on a street corner, offering audiences a distinctive blend of folk, bluegrass, Americana, jazz, and classical influences.
The duo released its debut EP, Washtucna Waltz, in 2025, followed by a full-length live album in collaboration with Waldo Folk in 2026.
The performance is part of CCC’s ongoing Humanities Program, which brings a variety of artists and performers to campus throughout the year. All Humanities Program performances are FREE and open to the community.
