COFFEYVILLE, KS — Medical Assistants Recognition Week (MARWeek), observed October 19–23, 2026, is a national celebration recognizing the essential contributions medical assistants make to patient care, health care teams, and communities across the country.
This year’s theme, “Educated. Equipped. Empowered.”, highlights the knowledge, skills, and dedication medical assistants bring to the health care profession. Medical assistants play a vital role in health care delivery by supporting physicians and other health care professionals, assisting patients, performing clinical and administrative duties, and helping medical offices operate efficiently.
MARWeek provides an opportunity to recognize the hard work and commitment of medical assistants while raising awareness of the importance of their role in today’s health care system. It also celebrates the educators, employers, volunteers, and supporters who help prepare and encourage current and future medical assistants.
As the demand for skilled health care professionals continues, medical assistants remain an important part of providing quality patient care and creating positive patient experiences. Their professionalism, compassion, and dedication help strengthen health care teams and improve the communities they serve.
During October 19–23, 2026, medical assistants, students, educators, employers, and supporters are encouraged to participate in the celebration, recognize the profession’s accomplishments, and promote the value of medical assisting.
Medical Assistants Recognition Week is a time to celebrate the professionals who make a difference in health care every day—educated in their knowledge, equipped with essential skills, and empowered to make a lasting impact.
