Reina Garcia Selected Phi Theta Kappa Member of the Month

Reina Garcia, a sophomore from Topeka, was selected as Eta Gamma Chapter of Phi Theta Kappa, Coffeyville Community College, Member of the Month.  Reina serves the local chapter as Vice President of Membership, is captain of the volleyball team, and is a member of the cheer team. 

Reina is on the President’s Honor Roll, a member of the KJCCC All-Academic Team, and was name KJCCC Defensive Player of the Week.  In the community, Reina has assisted with Reading is Fundamental (RIF) at Community Elementary, Raven Holiday, mentorship of the kindergarten class at Community Elementary, and a Fiesta Mexicana Volunteer.  Reina is a college tutor at the Student Success Center, a job Reina States that she “absolutely loves.”  Reina is a graduate of Topeka High School. 

Her parents are Raquel Garcia and Michael Munoz of Topeka.  Reina’s major is communications and her “dream” job would be to work in broadcasting for ESPN sports network.  Reina is still deciding on her university of transfer, but she has received offers from six D-I schools including Chicago State, St. Peter’s in Jersey City, and Jackson State in Mississippi.  Reina plans to continue her volleyball career for the next two years.
