Every month, a member of Phi Theta Kappa Honors Society is chosen for their exemplary actions and achievements. For August, Athena Phifer, daughter of Donnell Phifer, was selected for this honor.

Phifer is a sophomore from Nowata, Oklahoma. She serves as the VP of Scholarship for Phi Theta Kappa and handles the Honors in Action Conference. “I joined Phi Theta Kappa because of the scholarship and travel opportunities,” stated Phifer. She plans to attend Oklahoma State University next fall to major in Biochemistry and Molecular Biology.

“Athena is very involved in community service projects and community work,” said Linda McFate, Phi Theta Kappa advisor.  “Her involvement this past month is why she was selected.”

Phifer attended the Defending the American Dream Summit, helps with Raven Gear, contributed to the service project at The Brown Mansion, and plans to attend the Honors in Action Conference in Wichita.
